History
From 1995 - 1997, Larry Page and Sergey Brin meet on the campus of Stanford University. Together in their garage they created the first search engine called BackRub. A year later backrub, which ran on Standford’s server ended due to the high uses of its bandwidth therefore a second search engine, was created “Google.” The original domain name was “Googol” a mathematical term that represented a number by the numeral 1 followed by 100 zeros but due to a typo error “GOOGLE” as we now today was then created.
Thereafter many great things started to happen such as newsletters where written and sent out to fans by Larry himself providing updates on how the company was doing. A gentleman by the name of Andy Bechtolsheim wrote a check in the amount of $100,000 that would help launch the start of Google Inc. The first doodle was established when the crew headed off to the Burning Man located in the Nevada Desert to keep people informed of what they were doing. In September of 1998 Google Inc. was established. The office garage became too small so the now existing company announced that they have moved to a more suitable office that is located in Palo Alto, Ca. Their first actual location now is located in Mountain View, Ca
Google Inc. is now blossoming into something so colorful and beautiful from creating Google tool bars, offering 250 million images, opening their first international office in Tokyo to google mobile phones. Google also plays a big role in advocating their employees to live a healthier lifestyle by providing healthier meals free of charge and built in gyms for employee.

Location, Location, Location
Google's main location is Mountain View, California. They are now located all about the world. If you ever visit a Google location, there you can find murals, cubes, colorful balls, and decorations that express what Google calls "Local Personality."

Culture of the company
Google's definition of culture is PEOPLE. This company hires, smart, determined, and ability over experience. Google maintains an open culture such as face-to-face interaction as well as email or cafe. Google encourages interactions between Googlers within and across teams to establish a positive relationship. When employees were asked the question What do you like most working at Google? here's what they had to say.
Hi, my name is Alana, I am a Learning and Development Specialist:
Googlers! I am so lucky to have the opportunity to work with such talented individuals.
I appreciate that we apply diverse perspectives, on highly collaborative teams and projects.
HI, my name is Mario, I am a Software Engineer:
I feel that Google allows everyone to be themselves, no matter how unique one's background or interests.
I felt that my interest in non-profits, telecommunications and public policy could not fit in the "software engineer" stereotype. Luckily,
after arriving at Google I've been fortunate to work in these and many other, perhaps disparate, areas.
Google's Media feels that it can offer many tools for common and business. A few tools they offer are; gather, organize, publish, engage, develop, visualize, and additional resources. Google feels that these sets of media tools can help establish, built, and maintain.

Stage of Lawrence Kohlberg's Stages of Ethical Reasoning (Development)
When it comes down to development, Google falls into Level 2 "Conventional" Stage #3 which states "a person is increasingly aware of his or her membership in a society and the existence of codes of behavior that is, something is right or wrong because codes of legal, religious, or social behavior dictate it.
For example, the diverse population of Google represents the many and different ideals that form a uniform culture under one roof. Each Googler is required to put forth the effort and act in a responsible manner that will provide an atmosphere of respect, learning, and accepting each and every one as a whole.

Code of Ethics
Google's formal document Code of Conduct is stated "Don't Be Evil" This document contains a preface,
a who must follow our code, and what if I have a code of conduct question. There are a list of code and conduct each employee has to follow in order to have a safe and enjoyable place of business.
For example, No Retaliation, Google prohibits retaliation against any worker here at Google who reports or participates in an investigation of a possible violation of our Code. (1) Serve Our Users (2) Respect Each Other (3) Avoid Conflict of Interest (4) Preserve Confidentiality (5) Protect Google's Assets (6) Ensure Financial Integrity and Responsibility and (7) Obey The Law

Level of Functions
Google Inc. has more attention to its Corporate Social Responsibility. Google's goal is to be better, faster, efficient, and more competitive towards their counter parts. Google believes in an aggressive yet invasive approach when it comes to researching, strategy, and promoting their products and services. They have many locations that provide the consumers with new and improved technology.

Human Resources
Humans Resources plays a role in each level by in many different ways for example, job creation, recruitment and selection,
efficient management, and documentation of period performance.
Human Resources definitely plays the lead role. Google's 2014 summation surplus equaled to $16.6 Billion. By that being said, I'm sure the Hr department will have to be on their P's and Q's when it comes to paying bills and collecting them. The money mostly spent would have to be in the area of research and development in the field of technology.

Conflict of Interest
Conflict of Interest, A situation in which one relationship or obligation places you in direct conflict with an existing relationship or obligation. The conflict of interest that I have researched is that Larry Page and Sergey Brin are both the CEO, and Board of Directors.

Triple Bottom Line
Triple Bottom Line The TBL is an accounting framework with three dimensions: social, environmental (or ecological) and financial. The TBL dimensions are also commonly called the three Ps: people, planet and profits and are referred to as the "three pillars of sustainability." Google provides on their website what they contribute to people, programs for Go Green, and a quarterly update of their finances.

Corporate Social Responsibility
Google to me is an Altruistic company, for example the company has programs that help empowering women and girls, fighting trafficking and child abuse, supporting Bay Area Non profits, and internationally helping other countries get started with their own technology. Google also donates $1,000,000,000 in Grants, 60.00 hours, and $1 Billion in products.
Google has raised awareness all over the world including China's innovation Cup for College Students. Relief locations have been set up in China schools where earth quake is predominately known. School grants where given out to girls from different countries that supported them for 10 years and raising charities for many different causes prove that this company advocates strongly in the area of being labeled as Altruistic.

Evolution/Revolution of Company
Google Inc. I don't think soared in a form of a crisis but more like consistent along with faith. There are many people who contributed to Google's success. For example, Andy Becthlosheim who wrote their first check to expand, Susan Wojcicki donated her garage for larry and Sergey's office. Craig Silverstein, was their first employee who is fellow CA grad student at Standford who worked from them for 10 years+ before moving on to education start up Khan Academy. Which is ironic that I actually subscribe to Khan Academy because he is amazing at teaching health science subjects which helped me achieve a Bachelors Degree in Sonography. These are just a few of many who help mold Google to what it is now .

Corporate Governance
Google has respectfully shown all categories of corporate governance for example, Climate of trust and candor, their board of directors have shown that by working as a partnership they are able to achieve their goals. Foster a culture of open dissent, gives each director the opportunity to be expressive thoroughly and resolved quickly.
Mix up roles, are attained by learning another trade. From the start I don't think that mixing up roles would be a problem. Page and Brin I'm sure, had the task of being their own secretaries and janitors at one point before they expanded. Ensure individual accountability, learning Google's code of conduct I do not feel that this ever became front page news. Let the board assess leadership talent, now I agree with this, Google stated they favor ability not experience. Having the ability to get the job done out weighs experience. Evaluate the board's performance, using this tool helps the company grow from mistakes, or get better.
Walter Salmon's Questions In regards to Google Directors
The Management Team as Google calls themselves consist of Executives, Senior Leadership,s and Board of Directors.
Including Larry Page and Sergey Brin the total members are 20. I can only mention from the research that the only information that is given out to the public is the financial reports.
There are questions that should be asked.
1. Should the Founder hold both CEO and Board of Directors Chairs?
2. Are the financial reports accurate and valid?
3. Are CEO compensations formulated accurately?
