HISTORY KOCH
It was Founded by Fred C. Koch. He had moved to Kansas and started wrinkle-koch engineering is formed in 1925. Between 1929 to 1932 Koch builds Cracking units in former soviet union. Then in 1940 Fred co-founds a wood river oil and refining company. He acquires spring ranch in Kansas flint hills in 1941. Then in 1945 Koch engineering was formed. A year later in 1946, wood river acquires rock Island oil and refining companies in Oklahoma. Throughout the 1950’s Koch Industries acquired new or become third owners of new lands in Texas, Minnesota, and Montana. In 1952 Koch made flexitray valve tray. From 1960 to 1970 Koch bought more land and refineries. In the 1961 Fred’s son Charles Koch joined the family business. In 1966 Fred Koch died and Charles becomes chairman and executive chief officer in 1967.
In 1970 David H Koch joins his brother in the family business as a technical service manger. Koch Hydrocarbon begins building natural gas fractional in Oklahoma in 1971. Patners with George Ablah to form ABKO in 1979. Three years later Koch takes hold of a plant from sun oil in Texas. then later in the 1980's the construction of a pipeline in Wisconsin started (1988). and by the end of the decade Koch Financial corp. has $ 1 billion+ in assets.
Then in 2005 Koch bought Georgia-pacfic and all debts for $22 Billion. Then just last year in 2013 Koch took ownership of Molex Incoprated a global electronic components company in 17 countries and 45 manufacturing locations. That same year Georgia-pacific had planned to invest up to $ 400 millon in to there lumber and plywood operations.
